Tesprit

Foli Kossi Gérard TETE, was born in 1994 in Lome, his artist name Tesprit, because when he paints or sculpts it is his creative spirit that takes possession of him, the spirit of TETE.

After years of intense relationship with painting, Tesprit has developed a new technique based on recycling sandals commonly known as "DZIMAKPLAO" (Uneducated Child) in Togo.

This recycling work was born out of the Covid-19 crisis; a period in which, deprived of his financial resources, the artist turned to more accessible materials directly related to the condition of life of men in society. From now on, his style is recognized by the sculpture of sandals on canvas through the themes of childhood and the living conditions of street children.
